Day 198: To Palm Coast

Day 198: February 1:  We pulled up anchor and got UW around 7:30, wanting to motor out of Mosquito Lagoon before low tide. Although we didn't see anything less than 6'9" on the way in yesterday, we didn't want to chance running aground in this remote spot.

Not wanting to sound like a broken record but it's the same story. The wind is with us again, chopping up the ICW. During this stretch of the cruise, RV parks, fish camps, and lines of identical houses with identical docks lined the shore. The serene waters of the ICW,  provide folks who do not desire elegant mansions with manicured lawns, a scenic and tranquil environment. Simple living so it seems.

We passed through several bridges once again; the Main Street, Bulow (L.B. Knox and the prettiest one, the International Speedway Boulevard Bridge. With paintings of manatees and dolphins on its structure, it sets itself apart from all the rest.

We arrived at Palm Coast Marina where we will be leaving the boat for the next 3 months. We are visiting my parents for 3 weeks in Palm Coast and then traveling to Puerto Rico (PR) until the end of April. Our plans include completing the renovations in the PR apartment before flying back to Palm Coast to get UW and finish our Loop! It's been a great adventure so far and I'm sure the final leg of the trip will be just as exciting. Check back in April for more about our journey on Slàinte Mhath.
